Recent Updates

I am just not really good at blogging... haha but I am working on it. Since I last blogged I have been very busy with Rotary speaking engagements as well as finishing up the term for Semester A. I am well into the new semester now and the countdown for when I go back to Canada has begun 96 days... so about three months left before I go back. I am quite anxious to get back but there is anxiety about it as well...

I have had several opportunities to speak to Rotarians and it has been great to see how each Rotary club runs their meetings, and how they are so thrilled to have me come and speak, it makes me feel very welcome. During the month of January I was having a sense of cabin fever as I had been working on my school projects, as well as Rotary ones, so I wanted to get out and travel. A few friends decided to go to Sweden/Stockholm... I must say it was very cold but there was something welcoming about the snow, only for a few days. We had a nice time exploring this city rich with culture, history, and the food was excellent! So begins my trek to fill up my passport!

I also recently started to go to the gym and so it has been a month since I have been going and I feel great. Although when I get back from Sweden I was feeling a bit under the weather and so travelled to Rome, Italy not feeling too well but I made it through the week. It was nice to see my sister and some old friends. The trip was great indeed filled with many tours, trips, wine bottles, gelato and antipasto until my stomach was full to the brim. We saw many things, highlights include the Vatican, Treive fountain where I threw my coin in, the Vatican, Baths of Caracalla, Palazzo Borghese, Castle San Angelo, and much much more. It was good catching up with my professor from Canada and filling him in on my many adventures over the last several months.

I got back to England a bit unwell and now I have been nursing myself back to health ahha but I did manage to throw a great italian dinner for some friends with antipasto, pasta, and some limoncello. I have so say I have become more independent and able to cook a great meal, do laundry, and run a tight household. I can defenately say it is not an easy thing and I respect my mother even more for that.
So here we are into March... 96 days and counting and still so much to see, so much to do, and so much more to accomplish before I head back to Canada.

I have applied for teachers college so I will be hearing from the faculty next month in regards to my acceptance so that is exciting. My friends have already started to plan for my return with many concerts, parties, etc. But it is also going to be a job searching summer so I can help pay for teachers college for the year. So many things to think about in regards to the future, but for once I am going to try and take my mothers advice and just think about today: the present, and pray for constant good days.

Cheers !
